Important Visa Requirement For International IVF Patients

As per the Government of India circular dated 11 August 2026, all foreign nationals travelling to India for IVF/ART treatment must obtain a Medical Visa. This requirement also applies to OCI cardholders undertaking ART/IVF or surrogacy.
Foreign nationals, other than eligible OCI cardholders, are not permitted to avail surrogacy services in India under the Surrogacy (Regulation) Act, 2021.
Please obtain and share your Medical Visa and required documents with Khushhi IVF before travelling to India.
Treatment is subject to applicable Indian ART, Surrogacy and immigration laws.

What happens after teleconsultation?

Khushhi IVF team will email you a customised treatment plan based on your fertility history and treatment recommended. It will also share with you an estimate IVF-ICSI treatment package with services that are included and excluded in the package. After you have gone through the email, you are requested to confirm that you are interested to get the treatment at Khushhi IVF. With your confirmation, we will also need scanned copy of your and your partners passport. And tentative dates of your travel to India.

Do I need to travel on Medical Visa [M1-Visa] while planning to come to India for IVF-ICSI treatment?

It is suggested to seek medical visa (MV) for both of you. There are options for single entry, double entry or multiple entry 30-, 60-, 90- and 180-days visa.

Who should take medical visa for IVF-ICSI treatment in India?

People not holding India passport need to seek medical visa for IVF-ICSI treatment in India.

What happens on the day when we arrive at the clinic for our first consultation?

You will be asked to report to the clinic at least one week before your expected period date. On the day of first consultation, you are required to bring all your digital or physical medical treatment files for us to have a detailed history and understanding of your case. We recommend not to hide any medical facts with your fertility specialist. You will be requested to fill up a registration form and sign general consent. Both partners important vitals will be checked like Blood pressure, random blood sugar, pulse, height and weight. After that an assistant doctor will conversate with you to understand and record your case in your digital file. The female partner will be asked to empty their bladder and then they will visit their fertility consultant. The doctor will confirm the history and will perform transvaginal ultra-sound of the patient to evaluate the ovaries, antra-follicle count and uterus. After that final treatment plan with exact estimate will be given to you.

For how long am I required to stay in India for IVF-ICSI treatment in India?

60-70% of our patients conceive after 2 embryo transfer when 2 day 5 embryos are transferred. Hence, we recommend you travel with a provision of at least 50-60 days so that you get a chance to undergo repeat embryo transfer in case if the first embryo transfer fails.

What is the cost of Male Infertility (Azoospermia) Treatment In Ahmedabad?

For how long the male partner is required to stay in India?

The male partner is expected to plan at least 10 days stay in India and should be present one week before the stimulation of the female or the egg donor starts. Two samples of sperms will be frozen to be then used to fertilize eggs.

Can I fly back after the embryo transfer and before the Beta hCG report?

Yes, you can fly next day after the embryo transfer and you can get the blood work up done to test your pregnancy 14 days after the embryo transfer. We will pack 90 days medicines for you with prescription to use in case if the pregnancy test is positive.

What is the after care that is given from your clinic once I fly back?

Khushhi IVF team will give you an emergency helpline number 24x7x365 days in case if you need any medical advice or have any query till the time your pregnancy is confirmed. Once, your pregnancy is confirmed you need to enroll your self under a gynecologist or an obstetrician to take care of your during your pregnancy.

When can I fly back if the pregnancy test is negative or how soon can I start second embryo transfer if the pregnancy test is negative?

You can fly back to India for a repeat embryo transfer if you are left with any frozen embryo transfer one week before your expected period date. If you are India and want to undergo a repeat embryo transfer if you are left with any frozen embryo then you can book an appointment at the clinic on day 2 of your periods.

Do I have to self-administer my IVF-ICSI injections?

On start of your stimulation and IVF-ICSI treatment our nurse will assist you on how you or your husband can administer injections. If you or your husband are not confident to do the same, you can walk down to the clinic and we will administer the injections. Alternatively, if you are put up in 5 kms around the clinic on request the clinic nurse can come to administer the injection with a extra charge of USD 40.
